December 4, 2018 in Moscow (the Holiday Inn Moscow Lesnaya hotel, 15 Lesnaya Street, Moscow) will be held International Conference “Barrier-2018. Corporate insurance and insurance fraud. Organization of insurance counter-fraud management in claims settlement and technical assessment”.

Relevance:
The joint efforts of the Bank of Russia, insurance associations, insurers, government bodies of all branches and all levels in combating offenses and abuses in insurance are beginning to produce tangible results. The situation in many regions has noticeably improved, and the most characteristic fraudulent schemes have been eradicated or significantly limited for some types of insurance. However, it is still not possible to bring insurance fraud to target minimum levels - criminal groups migrate from one region to another, fraud penetrates into new types of insurance, fraudsters master new methods and technologies, the development of negative trends has not completely stopped. Russian insurers have to solve a whole complex of difficult tasks - to develop collective tools and methods to counter illegal actions in insurance, to maintain a constant dialogue with the authorities, to strengthen interaction with law enforcement agencies, to conduct active informational and educational work. The corporate insurance segment, the claims settlement area, all types of insurance and forensic examination become important vectors of efforts application. Foreign experience is very valuable for Russian insurers, the study and development of it can help to achieve convincing results quickly. One of the steps on the way to building a system to combat insurance fraud and a platform for studying and mastering foreign and domestic experience will be the International Conference Barrier-2018. Within its framework there will be discussions and round tables on the most important and sensitive issues for the insurers.

Discussion of the most relevant areas to combat insurance fraud in various types of insurance with all interested and involved authorities, exchange information, study foreign experience, and involvement of various Russian organizations in international coordination and co-operation mechanisms to combat insurance fraud and search for and punish participants in such crimes.
